ABSTRACT
The article offers suggestions of social worker Carl O' Riordan for the disabled man Dougal, who wants to return home after meeting an accident. Riordan negotiated with a primary care trust for flexible options for support including nurses from a private agency, direct payments and peer support. He also states that Dougal must be prevented from returning home using the deprivation of liberty safeguards.
