ABSTRACT
An expansion cloud chamber has been equipped with a new mixing unit, based on continuous mixing and evaporation of two liquid flows and a dry gas flow. The most remarkable feature of the new setup is that activities of the vapor components can be varied independently. This development provides a new view on the nucleation in binary (two-vapor) systems. The experimental results, obtained during tests of the set-up with water-n-propanol-argon system, lead us to the suggestion that Henry's and Raoult's laws can be generalized for the case of finite nucleation rate, i.e. for supersaturated systems. The ordinary laws are just a special case for zero nucleation rate (equilibrium).
