ABSTRACT
A resolvent super-operator approach along with projection operators is described for the evaluation of the line shape function due to an electron-scatter system. The line shape function, which appears in the denominator of Badjou-Argyres type conductivity formula, is expressed in terms of a self-energy super-operator.

The Jaynes-Cummings model in the general nonresonant case without rotating-wave approximation is considered. The analysis is carried out using the resolvent formalism. It is shown that one, given the matrix of Hamiltonian resolvent, can easily find all basic physical quantities corresponding to...

The resolvent kernel represented by a ratio of two Fredholm's series can be reformed into a sum of two ratios, only one of which contains Fredholm's determinant in its denominator. The general results presented are then used to apply Faddeev's residue prescription in the case of the rank N...

The band-Lanczos algorithm is used to compute a few matrix elements of a resolvent, i.e., to compute 〈ψk|(ω-H)-1|ψl〉. Here H denotes a Hermitian matrix of large dimension. It is shown that the proposed method which is based on the band-Lanczos algorithm is more efficient...

The eigenlevels of a two-dimensional quartic anharmonic oscillator are identified as the zeros of a "characteristic function" derived from the resolvent. Numerical values are obtained by means of Padé approximants.
