ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the prohibition of pesticide use in several farms and orchards in the U.S. It elucidates the adverse effects of these pesticides to health and to the environment and cites how their toxicity affects crops and other agricultural products. It highlights the chemicals used in eliminating pests including dieldrin, toxaphene, and chlordane. Moreover, the move of Environmental Protection Agency in regulating these toxic treatments is also mentioned. INSET: How to play safely in the soil.
