LMI Custom was founded in 1997 to develop materials for its joint venture partners, New Philadelphia, Ohio-based Lauren International and Germany's Meteor Gummiwerke. Jim Nixon, LMI Custom Mixing general manager, said that today about 80-85 percent of the mixer's business is accounted by captive business for those two firms.
