This article states that light grenade launchers have become popular again with the advent of asymmetric warfare. Light grenade launchers were popular during the Cold War and these type of weapons were used in the Vietnamese conflict. Some of the light grenade launchers that have entered the market are M203 developed by AAI and mass produced by Colt and is widely used in U.S. forces, the Madritsch ML40 and the F2000 rifle from FN Herstal.
