ABSTRACT
The article discusses the top restaurant trends for 2011 identified by food insights strategists, culinary consultants and other foodservice professionals. Foodservice reports are cited which show the increasing popularity of restaurants that offer top quality food with more cost-effective menus. A Datassential survey revealed that afternoon and mid-morning snacking has increased at a number of foodservice operators. Menu developers are seen to be capitalizing on the popularity of Asian, Latin and Mediterranean dishes.
