ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial performance of some steel and aluminum companies in the U.S. in the third quarter of 2010 including AK Steel Corp., Alcoa Inc. and Allegheny Technologies Inc. AK Steel's net loss reached 59.2 million dollars, but its net sales increased 51.4%. The net income of New York-based Alcoa totaled 61 million dollars, while its revenues reached 5.3 million dollars. Allegheny's net income totaled 1.0 million dollars on sales of 1.06 billion dollars.
