ABSTRACT
The article reports on the need for human resource (HR) professionals to face the challenge of providing good work to British people, as discussed in a keynote session that was held at a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) conference in Manchester, England in November 2010. The British government encouraged companies to create jobs for unemployed people. HR professionals were also urged to assist employees in coping with the changing working environment.
