The article discusses the cost of employee turnover and ways to reduce them. Total employee turnover cost is reportedly equal to the costs of hiring and training of new employees. It is stated that a company's profile should match its target hiring group, such as in hiring job-focused employees when career advancement cannot be offered, and that the external and internal motivators of employees like rewards and passion must be learned and understood. The need to probe factors behind the usual reasons of departing employees is also indicated.
