ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the development of fungicides and its uses in combating turf diseases in Great Britain. It relates the discovery of strobilurins derived from the pine cone fungus Strobilurus tenacellus that produces natural fungicides. It says that the single-site mode of action of strobilurin family with Quinone outer Inhibitor (QoL) targets the cellular energy process and kills germinating spores. Among the strobilurins cited include azoxystrobin, trifloxystrobin, and pyraclostrobin.
