The article presents the findings of a scientific study which aim to find out the effectiveness of benazepril plus amlodipine in reducing the risk for cardiovascular (CV) events in patients with hypertension and diabetes. Undertaken by M.A. Weber and colleagues, it compared amlodipine with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) each combined with benazepril, for preventing CV in diabetics. It was seen that benazepril plus amlodipine reduced overall CV events more than benazepril plus HCTZ.
