ABSTRACT
The article offers valuable insights on the use of the shotgun in hunting for fur. It points out the value of using a hardware that properly fits the shooter and explains the need to pattern the gun at least at 10, 20, and 30 yards. It recommends the pump or bolt gun for reliability against autoloaders which jam under extreme cold conditions. Also discussed are the best gauge and barrel length for shooting, as well as the preference of the old lead magnum turkey and waterfowl loads for varminting.
