ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the art of studying the future trends. The article pays tribute to two friends Dave King and Peter Hoffman, early pioneers in the field of financial planning. He caught the vision that led to the creation of a professional certification, the Certified Financial Planner designation. A college dedicated to financial planning and a board of standards and practices for financial planners. Peter Hoffman was a client and a friend of Dave King. The author says that there are few things about future that are certainties. One is that we get old, then we will concentrate to a greater extent on the precepts of living and testamentary estate planning and business continuity issues. The author says that we as planners should be cautious of an over concentration on those things that in the final accounting do not count. He says that Dave King and Peter Hoffman built a net worth of a far more lasting dimension. They had the respect and love of those who knew them. We the living are better off because they were here.
