ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study which investigated the physiological effects of a 12-week structured exercise program for obese Korean children. Subjects were evaluated whether the exercise program had an effect on their body weight, body composition, serum lipid profiles, insulin resistance, inflammatory markers such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and serum adiponectin, and physical fitness level. The prevalence of childhood obesity in Korea is offered. A discussion on the research findings is detailed.
