The article deals with the decline in corporate bankruptcies which prompted some workout specialists to shift their focus from the restructuring business to other sectors such as work for secured and unsecured creditors. Henry Owsley, co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Gordian Group, relates the cyclical nature of the restructuring business. Jeffrey Werbalowsky, co-chief executive and co-head of the restructuring practice at Houlihan Lokey, attributes the decline to "economic Darwinism" that prevailed after the financial crisis.
