In the article, the author discusses the need for Australian government to establish a management policy to maintain its sea territory. He questions the moves by researchers, who are funded by grants from such organizations as the New Rural Industries Australia and the Australian Institute for Commercialization, to focus on prevention and not on increased efficiency and productivity. He criticizes the failure of the government to develop its drought-proof harvest opportunities like the seaweeds, which can be used as stock feed supplement.
