ABSTRACT
fluorophosphate laser glass doped with 1.0 mol% of Eu ions has been prepared and studied by site-selective spectroscopy to explore the local structure of Eu ions. Site-selective D → F emission spectra have been measured under resonant excitation to the D level at different wavelengths within the F → D band at 16 K. Using the Stark level positions of the F and F levels, crystal-field analysis has been carried out. The results suggest the existence of a unique kind of site for all the environments of Eu ions in this glass.

We have studied experimentally and theoretically high-order harmonic generation using a laser field with a time-dependent ellipticity. We show that the harmonic emission can be confined into a narrow temporal window, in which the fundamental polarization is quasi-linear. This allows a single...

We demonstrate the generation of arbitrarily shaped spectra of coherent soft X-ray radiation by adaptive control of the driving laser pulse. The selection of both narrow and wide spectral ranges as well as suppression of high-harmonic emission in a selected wavelength region is achieved....

Ho3+ doped germanate glass sensitized by Yb3+ has been investigated for potential application as a near-infrared laser material. The characteristic temperatures are determined by differential scanning calorimeter, and the absorption and emission spectra are measured. According to absorption...

We investigate the temporal confinement of high order harmonic pulses generated by a femtosecond (fs) infrared (IR) pulse with a time varying polarization. We use a set of two birefringent quartz plates to modulate the IR polarization. It produces a short temporal gate of linear polarization...

Stimulated emission of radiation from CdxHg1 – xTe samples pumped by a Nd:YAG laser at temperature T ≈ 77 K is obtained. Both spontaneous and stimulated emission is observed for the wavelengths λ in the range 3300–3600 nm. Experimental emission spectra are presented. The...

A method based on the unidimensional gain equation has been developed in order to fit the experimental data due to amplification of spontaneous emission in a thin film of conjugated polymer waveguide. The results have confirmed not only a dependence of the gain coefficient on the laser intensity...
