ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the significant contribution of businessman and financier T. Boone Pickens in the financial industry in the U.S. She cites how Pickens was able to transform the country's addiction to foreign oil and move it to natural gas to be freed from the beholden of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). The author commends the courage of Pickens to invest in natural gas as well as his enthusiasm of pushing the use of renewable energy sources in the country.
