ABSTRACT
The article explains cultural competency in the workplace and how it can improve the library experience of users in Kentucky. It states that culturally competent librarians are able to understand their own worldviews and those of library users without stereotyping and showing bias. It notes that if librarians adopted cultural competency, they would be better prepared to interact with users from diverse cultures, resulting in improved services and programs.
