The article reports on the need for manufacturers to use the precision of flexible automation to get the performance advantage of lithium ion batteries. It states that manufacturers need to use flexible automation through machine vision and high-powered lasers to assure a perfectly hermetic tight when manufacturing the batteries. Flexible automation supports the safe manufacturing of batteries and the robust packaging that permits the batteries to be used in different hostile environments.
