The article discusses the launch of a light rail service in Stockholm, Sweden. The Spårväg City tram service runs between Sergels Torg and Waldermarsudde. It modernized the Djurgårdsstaden heritage tram line. It was extended to Sergels Torg to provide an interchange to other transportation services such as metro and suburban trains and buses. The tram project aims to link the city center with the expanding suburbs.
