ABSTRACT
The article examines the common or possibilities for coexistence between argument theory and theoretical integration in the U.S. It states that logic, dialectic and rhetoric are essential perspective on or aspect of argument, since there can be no argument without logic and there can be no argument without dialectic. It notes that informal logicians and Pragma-Dialectics have argued that all arguments can fruitfully analyzed as approximations of the Pragma-Dialectical ideal model. It emphasizes that emotions and feelings are not rejected by the theories of practical reasoning as irrational or as illegitimate as reasons for actions.
