Carrying coal from Kalimantan

This article reports on a license granted to MEC Holdings by the Indonesian government to build a coal railway in the East Kutai regency of eastern Kalimantan. MEC plans to invest approximately one billion U.S. dollars on the line from the lignite mines at Muara Wahau to Bengalon port. It also intends to construct a complex of integrated industrial facilities at Bengalon. The project will include terminals equipped with a pair of unidirectional loop tracks.
