The article profiles Terry Hall, veterinarian and financial planner. After being a vet for 15 years, Hall attended Purdue University's Krannert Graduate School of Management. Hall's first step in the direction of financial planner was to take a position with the American Animal Hospital Association, which he describes as the veterinary version of the American Medical Association. Hall explains that the American Animal Hospital Association is an accrediting organization. He ended up being a practice consultant and traveled around the country working with veterinarians to improve the profitability and financial success of their practice. Hall's next step on the road toward specialization was board certification in the financial arena, so he decided to pursue the Certified Financial Planner Examination designation--which he achieved in 1999. After working with the American Animal Hospital Association for seven years, Hall decided to integrate business and personal financial planning and became a registered investment adviser representative with Eagle Strategies Corp. in Littleton, Colorado.
