The article discusses the virtual attack of disruptive players illustrating a significant tension in virtual worlds (VWs) in the U.S. It cites the attack of millionaire real estate magnate Anche Chung who offers fantasy space in the VWs where disruptive players called barbarians, psychotics or terrorists intentionally assault the players. It introduces the VWs as communities and markets as well as the phenomenon of griefing in VWs. It also describes the intersection of griefing attacks and the magic circle of VWs.
