ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the facilitated sensemaking model which is a middle-range theory that offers a set of nursing interventions to support the patient's family members. It cites the case of a wife who experienced disruption when his husband was in coma. It mentions that the Roy's adaptation model requires the wife to engage in meaningful activities. It adds that under facilitated sensemaking, a nurse must make sure that the family members receive constant messages from the health care team.
