ABSTRACT
The article reports on the selection of Portland Utilities Construction Co. (PUCC) as the pipebursting contractor for the pilot project in Tallahassee, Florida. It states that the move emerged after the 36-inch fiberglass resin force main in the city failed to function due to tropical storm Fay in 2008. It mentions that the pipebursting technology was considered as the most efficient approach for the project. It notes that the operation started in November 2009 and ended in February 2010.
