Striking a legal balance between compliance and business needs

The article discusses the importance of working knowledge of employment law to the human resource (HR) personnel of a company. HR professionals are advised to consult employment lawyers but the latter cannot make key management decisions. It is believed that HR staff only need to learn the key themes and principles of labor laws to identify the important cases and statutes. There is a need to determine how the organization handles employment law risk.
