Building Communities with Large Group Methods and Social Media

The article focuses on the use of Large Group Methods (LGMs) and social media to promote community library experience. It says that social media allows individuals to organize easily public gatherings and participations in Internet public discussions, while LGMs enable communities to facilitate large group of people in a discussion. It discusses the case study of the podcamp in Helifax, Nova Scotia which shows how a library can use social media and LGMs in the community engagement process.
