The article explores the issue of diversity in the workforce. According to the author, ethnocentrism results in institutional racism if a single group of people monopolizes the hiring. The author recommends diversifying the group that does the hiring so that diversity can be better achieved. The author believes an organization can better appeal to a diversity of people with a unified message when it is credible when it comes to communicating its loyalty to its ideals and qualities.
