The article reports that transmission companies and grid operators in European Union (EU) member countries are collaborating to avoid power shortage and counter rising debt and tighter regulation. Grid operators from Belgium, France and Great Britain have formed the Co-ordination of Electricity System Operators (Coreso). Also tackled is the independent transmission operator (ITO) business model wherein transmission networks are still in the balance sheet of parent companies.
