ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the pulsed solid state laser marking technology and applications. It mentions some of the factors that should be considered in choosing the appropriate laser for the task which include pulse frequencies, pulse durations and peak, and customer requirements. It mentions the three technologies which continue to have their place in industrial manufacturing which include Nd:YAG, vanadate and Ytterbium/fiber.
