ABSTRACT
This article reports on the entry of U.S. dealmakers in the Brazilian market in 2010. Evercore Partners acquired a stake in the boutique bank G5 Advisors for 20 million U.S. dollars in cash and securities. Ralph Schlosstein, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Evercore, expects the number of cross-border merger transactions to increase. Leading merger and acquisition advisers in the country include Banco BTG Pactual SA, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank.
