ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the political relationship between Illinois Governor Adlai Stevenson and former U.S. president Harry Truman. It discusses the conflict between both politicians which emerged from the support offered by Truman to Stevenson's candidacy for the 1952 elections. It also explains that Truman's dislike for the governor was caused by Stevenson's dissent on the programs of Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt and the notion that his support was a political liability for Stevenson.
