The article focuses on the involvement of Soviet politician Georgy Malenkov in the Leningrad case. It states that Malenkov collaborated with secret service boss Lavrenty Beria to persuade Joseph Stalin in liquidating the Leningrad clique into Malenkov clique as the late Andrei Zhdanov established a clique for incoming young administrators in major positions. It mentions that the case was initially used against Beria, who was then overthrown and executed after Stalin's death.
