ABSTRACT
The article reports that Police Chief Lavrenty Beria expressed his opposition against the purge he was ordered to do in Tiflis, Georgia. Almost all ranking Communist in the Georgian Soviet lost their jobs for fostering bourgeois nationalism as ordered by Joseph Stalin, including three top officials, Baramiya, Zodelava and Rapava. Beria asserted that his actions were against the Soviet law.
