ABSTRACT
The article discusses the events that led to a special ceremony at the Nova Scotia Museum of Fine Arts in Halifax. According to the article, the ceremony was a presentation of two 17th century landscape paintings by Italian artist Salvator Rosa. The Rosa paintings were part of the cargo in the ship Marquis de Somerueles which were sent to Halifax as prizes of war. Halifax sent back the paintings to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia.
