The article discusses the relevance of communications to the revenue and customer service of Health First. Jim Slate, vice president of revenue operations for Health First, complained about the problems caused by insurance provides who initially authorize a procedure then deny claims after. Michelle Fox, director of revenue operations/patient access, emphasized the issues caused by miscommunication. The author notes that Health First should devise a way to track and archive communications with insurance providers.
