ABSTRACT
The article focuses on volatile organic compounds (VOCs), a carbon compound which participates in atmospheric photochemical reaction, in which reacted with nitrogen oxide can cause ground-level ozone in the presence of sunlight. It mentions two successful ways used to grant VOC exemptions such as comparing the reactivity rate for the reaction of compound and incremental reactivity. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) eliminated reactive compounds from the regulatory definition of VOC.
