ABSTRACT
The article discusses the motion passed by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) on discontinuing direct financial support for "Canadian Medical Association Journal" (CMAJ) during its 143rd annual meeting in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Dr. Shawn Whatley, who sponsored the motion, said that his aim was to show the government that doctors can be financially responsible. It says that the motion passed by 80% to 18% margin, with no delegates defending the value of the journal.
