Slab track across the border bridge

This article features the completion of a replacement bridge carrying an international main railroad line across the Rhine near Strasbourg, France. The project was completed after three years. Project engineers experienced challenges in completing the project, including the need to ensure that the bridge will address increasing rail traffic. The engineers dimensioned the foundations of the old bridge to allow the addition of a second steel superstructure.
