The article focuses on the political career of the members of President Richard Nixon's administration especially those with sideburns. It states that Bob Ellsworth served as a presidential adviser and became U.S. Ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). It says that John Sears took Ellsworth's place as representative of the sideburn set. It adds that Daniel Patrick Moynihan defied auguries when he was promoted Counselor to the president and given a Cabinet post.
