ABSTRACT
Due to the development of ICT and transportation, the level of physical activity in everyday life has decreased. Because of this decline of physical activity level, a sedentary lifestyle, obesity and health-related disorders have increased in the last years. Lack of physical activity at work is being offset by the increase of leisure physical activity. Accordingly, we propose to examine the relationship between perceived health condition with the variables of physical activity and sport (PAFYD) and body image. In this study participated 883 participants between 13 and 17 years old. They completed an ad hoc questionnaire and later on descriptive, correlative and evaluative analyses were performed. The results indicated that boys make more PAFYD than girls and they perceived themselves more fit than girls. In the case of the girls, they practice less PAFYD and perceive themselves in good health. On the other hand, the results pointed that the perception of health status and body image are positively related.
