ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the study conducted by U.S. Government Accountability Office on the state and local pension plans. The study examines on who makes the investment decisions, and what are their decision making guides, how the plans allocate their assets and it manages their investment, and the practices that the plans are using. The study finds that a variety of stakeholders are involved in guiding plan investments.
