The article looks at the criticisms of Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in the U.S. It emphasizes that the advocacy of Financial Planning Coalition and Financial Planning Association is greatly needed by financial planning, financial planners, and planning clients. It is critical on the fiduciary duty called by President Barack Obama for all financial planning professions and on a legislation drafted to create appropriate regulatory structure for financial planning. Also, it highlights the request for Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) to carry out a study to investigate consumer confusion.
