ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's views on the benefits of employing diversification on sources of investments and income in the insurance business. He muses on owning a portfolio of correlated assets that becomes weak against the impact of a bear market. The author thinks that insurers have been dependent on investment returns to increase revenues as they have the options to price their products aggressively.
