ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the leadership changes in the U.S. Democratic Party. It says that Governor Jimmy Carter invites Democrats to plan the future of the party and says that the invitation does not come from McGovern people. It mentions that Arkansas Governor Dale Bumpers called for a meeting to chart a strategy of moderation. It states that among the primary compromises will be probably regarding the rules on the selection of convention delegates. Furthermore, it says that a movement plotted by George Meany, Al Barkan, and Scoop Jackson, is in progress to bring down Jean Westwood, a McGovernism symbol.
