ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a survey regarding the preferences of California voters during the 1972 U.S. primary Presidential elections. It states that 74 percent of the votes from the 18-24 age group favors candidate George McGovern. It says that union members gave McGovern an edge against candidate Hubert H. Humphrey despite the support of union leaders for the latter. It also asserts that if McGovern wins, he will be faced with the challenge of maintaining votes from Humphrey supporters.
