ABSTRACT
The article discusses the study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on Bureau of Land Management's (BLM's) management of public protests about oil and gas lease sales. Gao examines how BLM handles information related to protests, the nature of protests and its effect on the agency's lease sale decision. The study suggests that BLM should change the way it tracks protest information and allows transparency on its leasing decisions.
